Eunice Burnett drives local action with boundless energy. As just two recent examples, she is planning a native plant demonstration garden at the Greenwich Audubon Center, and an event about the impacts of neonicotinoids on pollinators and birds. She is a dedicated wife and mother of three who has devoted her life to making an impact on issues relating to children and the environment.
Eunice is currently Vice Chair of Land Conservation for the National Garden Club of America’s Conservation Committee, and recently joined the Greenwich Tree Conservancy Advisory Board. She is a longstanding Nature Conservancy Trustee and Advisory Board member to Audubon.
For her unwavering dedication to conservation and community building, we are delighted to share that Eunice will accept the Environmental Leadership Award at Audubon’s 2025 Environmental Leadership Awards Benefit!

Gary compiled the Greenwich-Stamford Christmas Bird Count for nearly 50 years, and co-founded the Greenwich Audubon Center's Summer Bird Count in 1976 - amongst many other accomplishments.
This year's Environmental Leadership Award celebrated the legacy of Connecticut's O'Brien Family, and the Lifetime Achievement Award was presented to New Haven's Doreen Abubakar.
On June 10, 2021, Audubon Connecticut proudly honored Joseph H. Ellis with its Environmental Leadership Award and Sue H. Baker with its Lifetime Achievement Award.
