Volunteer Teacher Naturalist Training Sessions

March 20, 2025 - Greenwich, CT, CT

Do you enjoy working with children and have a love of nature? Join our team of Volunteer Teacher Naturalists!

Greenwich Audubon Center welcomes individuals of all levels of experience in childhood education and natural history to join our Spring Training Sessions for teaching and assisting with school programs. Our team of Volunteer Teacher Naturalists is an all-welcoming group in which members actively engage with visiting school groups as well as youth-oriented public events at the Greenwich Audubon Center.

Our 2025 Spring Training Sessions will be focused on four school curriculums that are taught to elementary school children with hands-on, outdoor instruction from Audubon Educators on how these programs are conducted. Trainees will also get to engage with long-time volunteers to learn of the day-to-day activities of our Teacher Naturalists in a fun and interactive way!

Following these sessions, new trainees will shadow and assist with school programs to familiarize with material and eventually lead groups themselves when preferred.

Greenwich Audubon Center is a vibrant nature education center located at the main 285-acre Audubon sanctuary in Greenwich. We are a part of the Audubon Connecticut state office of the National Audubon Society and Atlantic Flyway, and steward a total of seven sanctuaries in the Greenwich area. Our mission is to protect birds and the places they need, today and tomorrow. Visitors are welcome to enjoy our miles of trails, nature programs, education resources, conservation-themed events, and nature store throughout the year.

We support a diverse and inclusive environment, and welcome individuals of all races, physical and mental abilities, sexual orientations, gender identities, ethnicities, and perspectives. We work with families to modify programs for accessibility where possible.
